Research has shown that the species of redwood known as Albino Redwoods contribute to the health of California's redwood forests by filtering toxins from the soil. The trees appear to act as a kidney or liver to the body of the forest filtering out all the bad. The spikey white needles of these albino pines contain high levels of toxin heavy metals which contribute to the trees ability to deplete toxins found in the soil.
